NIGERIA wrestler Aminat Adeniyi has pondered on her performance at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 where she failed to make a podium finish on her second appearance in an Olympic Games.

Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that the two-time Commonwealth champion lost 4-2 via pinfall to Ukraine’s Iryna Koliadenko, despite leading 4-0 in their round of 16 bout.

The five-time African champion, who says she learnt her lessons in a hard way, vowed not to let the loss weigh her down.

in an emotional message on her Facebook page, the Ondo State born athlete, who believes the loss will be an energizer, appreciate the support from Nigerians including friends and family, while also rejoices with the only medal winner in the wrestling team, Blessing Oborududu.

“We got pinned, We pinned others.... it is what it is...we rise from today's failure and boost ourselves for tomorrow's success it does not matter how, where or when.

“I owned my loss with pride as it serves as an energiser, a lesson learned in a hard way which no one can give nor teach me about. Especially how to increase my tempo in the race of life.
Though, Nothing good have a smooth beginning.
Some irony of life just got clearer now.

“Sometimes you cry, sometimes you laugh. And sometimes it seems you are the target of every doom of life, and sometimes you are so much aware that life deliberately chose you as is laugh emoji, no reason to cry at all. But every moment in life has its own time, it doesn't last forever.

“To my Amiable team mate Blessing Oborududu  I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart, for the silver medal you won and I'm so happy that we made this history together, you honestly deserved to win, you are an inspiration.

“To my Fams and friends, I appreciate your love for me, it was massive! My sporting journey was predetermined by God, I have no clue about it and I am enjoying every bit of the journey. No regret.
“Thanks again @everyone,” Aminat said.
