GATEWAY United FC of Ogun State are poised to get off to a flying start against Ekiti United FC in matchday one of the 2018/2019 Nigeria National League season.
Sportsbiz247.blogspot.com reports that Gateway United are drawn in a five team Group B3 alongside Nnewi United, Rovers FC, Dynamite FC and Ekiti United.
According to Coach Akeem Busari, it is imperative to start the next campaign on a bright note and take every game by the scruff of the neck.
"Our focus is to actualise the expectation of our fans, therefore we need to ensure that we top our group and then face the Super 8 headlong. The genesis of this intention starts with the game against Ekiti United. So, we will give our utmost best and also pray for mother luck to smile on us" he said.
"As a technical person, I don't see any group as easy or tough. It's going to be eleven against eleven. Some teams may not have big names but character and focus matter a lot. We are not fazed about big names. It's all about capabilities. We’ve prepared intensely, and we are upbeat about having a successful outing that will put smiles on the face of our fans and supporters", he concluded.
Gateway United will host their counterparts from Ekiti State in the matchday 1 of the new season on Wednesday April 10th 2019 at MKO Abiola stadium by 4pm.
