NIGERIA international Leon Balogun has had his three-match ban reduced to two and he will now pay a fine of 10,000 Euros for violent conduct during a Bundesliga game which was not captured by the referee.

The sports court of the German Football Association on Tuesday after an oral hearing of a sport misconduct in the form of an assault against the opponent in a lighter case to a previously committed against him sports improper act by a suspension of two championship games convicted and fined in the amount of 10,000 Euros.

The panel had previously imposed a three-match ban on the Super Eagles defender.

Balogun and Carlos Zambrano, who was called as a witness to the proceedings, convinced the court there was no serious harm on account of the confrontation and as such classified the incident as a lighter case of assault by careless behaviour on the part of Balogun.

Referee Felix Zwayer did not spot the incident during the game and that was why the DFB committee sat on the matter.
